POSSESS This:

Are these amazing or what?!?!?! Only a collaboration between Beats by Dr. Dre and Oscar de la Renta could come up with this deliciousness!  I want, wANt WANT them and then I thought about getting them for my sister (today’s her birthday – HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) because she’s a runner and they would keep her ears warm when she’s running in the cold Indiana air ….. But, they’re $695 … so unless Oscar has a super duper sale (and even then, as much as I love fur, I’m not sure they’d really be a practical item to own) I probably won’t be adding these to either of our collections.  But, a girl’s gotta dream, right?

POSSESS This: The Magic Kelly!

Isn’t she a beauty?  Hard to believe I just learned about her existence.  What’s she called?  Well, isn’t it obvious? She’s The Magic Kelly!  The sparkles give her just the right amount of pizazz to ensure that she will be gorgeous wrapped around your neck, hair, waist or bag.  And she comes in great colors – green, blue, white, pink and yellow to name a few.  I need another Hermès scarf like I need a hole in the head, but she’s on the list to be added to my collection next. What do you think?  Does she make your heart go pitter-patter?

Possess This: The 2.55 For The Hoi Polloi

Remember The Democratic Birkin?  Well, ThursdayFriday, the company behind the Birkin bag for the masses has done it again . . . This time they’re bringing Chanel to the masses!  Even though the veritable House of Hermès sued their pa-tooties, they’ve come back with The Diamond Series – a line of totes and pochettes emblazoned with an image of the classic Chanel flap handbag. The new totes bags come in two sizes, priced at $65 and $90, and the small pochette (with a pom-pom!) is priced at $35.

Gotta love it, right?  Who says everyone can’t have a Chanel bag?  Well, Chanel just might ….. So, if this is your one opportunity in this crazy economy to get a Chanel bag, you might want to do it quick, fast and in a hurry before Chanel gets mad and files a cease and desist order.

Decisions, decisions ……

I saw these buckle bracelets by leighelena online a few months ago and knew I needed to have at least one immediately.  This knowledge was filed away in my mental rolodex.  I met up with a new friend for coffee a few weeks ago and she mentioned that she’d just seen them at a store around the corner.  What’s amazing is that she couldn’t even remember who they were by, but her description was enough to let me know it was the same leather bracelet I’d mentally filed away (I couldn’t have told you the name either).  We left the coffee shop and made a bee-line for the boutique. I chose my bracelet and went happily on my way.  They come in single and double-strand as well as wide; I opted for the double-strand.  They range in price from $69 -$125. The current line of skins will be available through August . . . Hmmm . . . .well, there’s definitely enough room on my arm for another should something from the next line tickle my fancy!

POSSESS This: The Democratic Birkin!

One of the most coveted handbags ever created is now available to the masses. Well, it’s not necessairly the exact same bag that was created by the House of Hermès for actress and singer Jane Birkin.  The story behind it’s name?  In 1981, Hermès chief executive Jean-Louis Dumas was seated next to Jane Birkin on a flight from Paris to London. She placed her straw bag in the overhead compartment of her seat, but the contents fell to the ground, leaving her to scramble to replace the contents. Birkin explained to Monsieur Dumas that it had been difficult to find a leather weekend bag she liked. In 1984, he created a black supple leather bag for her, based on an 1892 design.

But you too can have your own “Birkin” or Together Bag as this one is called for a mere $35 + shipping and handling.  Much much more affordable than the $9,000 starting prices for a Birkin, no?  It’s a great canvas tote, perfect for just about everything – groceries, work documents, diapers, you name it.  No, it’s not hand-made like the real thing, but for a fraction of the cost who’s complaining!

I rarely travel without my laptop nowadays; I almost feel naked without my computer!  I LOVE this zebra print laptop case from Luxmo – it’s the perfect size for an iPad or a 10″ computer . . .  Hmm, this may be just the excuse I need to add an iPad to my electronics portfolio!  What do you think?

I discovered FitFlops last Summer while on Martha’s Vineyard.  My fashionable friend, Mia and her mother each seemed to have a different pair each day. Their feet looked sooooo comfortable and the their FitFlops so stylish that I ordered a pair online while on my vacation!  FitFlops are more popular than ever and they’ve come out with a few new styles that even more stylish than than before.  Of course Mia has a pair of Riatas, the ones with the fun ankle strap. And then there’s the Rebel for those of you who are looking for something a little funky.  Oh, and did I mention they’re great for toning your butt, hips, thighs and legs?  Kind of a no-brainer – comfort, style and toning all in one!  Every woman should own at least one pair of FitFlops.

Say “CHEEEEESSEE!!!!!!”

I love photographs!  You can count on me to be the one snapping away at life’s most important, and not so important, events.  Even in this day and age of Blackberries and iPhones with picture taking capabilities, the photo quality just can’t compare to that of a real camera.  As a result, I almost always have my camera with me, because you just never know, right?  My red Canon PowerShot takes great pictures and is so small that it fits in my tiniest purses.  Of course, just when I thought my camera was perfect, I learned about these cool camera straps that can instantly transform your camera into a chic Chanel-esque wristlet.  These hot camera straps are the brainchild of Teen Vogue Accessories Editor (it’s all about the accessories ladies!), Sarah Frances Kuhn.  The line is called SFK and they come in a variety of options, I’m diggin’ the multi-color chain with the tie-dye cord.  It’ll set you back $30 bucks, but hey you and your camera will be stylin’ and profilin’!

POSSESS This:

You know I swoon for just about anything that sparkles!  I’ve been wearing my sequin Jack Purcells for a few weeks now.  LOVE ‘Em. They’re comfortable, stylish and fun.  Perfect for long weekends, traveling and running errands. They make me smile each time I look down at them.  They are a little flat, so I’ve been wearing mine with Dr. Scholl’s tri-comfort orthotics inserts (I know – orthothics? . . . but girlfriends, your feet are nothing to play with, as much as I love my Tribute heels I love my feet more).  My sequin JPs are definitely my “go to” shoes this Sumer.

There’s nothing like a good manicure/pedicure to set off the perfect Summer tan and/or outfit.  Whether you’re going out with the girls, on your way to work, running errands with the kids or out for a night on the town; properly painted nails (no chips or peeling please!) can make you look and feel like a million bucks.  I’m craving these two colors this Summer. OPI’s Do You Lilac It? And Essie’s Chinchilly. Try them out.  Tell me what you think. BTW – I believe in owning my own nail polish  . . . you just never know.
